Bachelor of Architecture

Architecture Undergraduate 5 Years KEA: E263
Syllabus

The B.Arch programme enables students with enhanced knowledge related to the practice of the Architecture profession. Education at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), University of Mysore, is grounded in effective, interactive instruction delivered by dedicated, qualified faculty members. It qualifies graduates to pursue careers in architecture, as well as other areas of design and construction.

1 Implement the critical thinking method to build abstract relationships and understand the impacts of designing ideas based on study and analysis.
2 Developing architectural practices, technical skills and knowledge, visual and verbal communication skills at various stages of the design and delivery process.
3 Students will be able to demonstrate their ability to synthesize a wide range of integrated design solutions for problems of varying scales.
4 Understanding the design philosophies and fundamental principles of multi-dimensional aspects and the multi-faceted nature of architecture.
5 Developing the overall personality and professional confidence in dealing with all scales of projects in the architectural and construction industry.
6 Work in a collaborative manner consistent with accepted professional standards, ethical responsibilities, and as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary design and execution team.

Eligibility Criteria

10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with either Chemistry, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, or Business Studies with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Master of Architecture

Architecture Postgraduate 2 Years KEA: T984
Syllabus

The M.Arch (Urban Design) programme is a postgraduate course focused on advanced studies in architectural and urban design. It equips students with the skills to address complex design challenges at the intersection of architecture, urban planning, and environmental sustainability.

Eligibility Criteria

Pass in Bachelor of Architecture approved by the Council of Architecture (CoA) from a recognized university, with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

Qualified in PGCET (Post Graduate Common Entrance Test in Architecture).

B.Tech Planning

Planning Undergraduate 4 Years
Syllabus

In a country where urbanisation has been steadily rising since independence, planning professionals need to be trained to handle the complexity of problems arising from urbanisation. With the growing need to improve the quality of life of cities, the need for qualified planners at all levels has increased significantly. The B.Tech Planning course is an endeavour to bridge the gap in the number of planning professionals required in the country. It is a 4-year programme recognised by the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI).

Eligibility Criteria

Passed Senior Secondary Examination (2nd PUC / 10+2 / 12th grade from Science Stream) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC).

Diploma in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Architecture (10+3) with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC). Candidates from Diploma streams shall not be entitled to any exemption from any subject.

80% of seats are reserved for 10+2 students and 20% for diploma candidates. If sufficient regular candidates are not available, seats may be converted between categories.

M.Tech in Urban and Regional Planning

Planning Postgraduate 2 Years
Syllabus

The M.Tech in Urban and Regional Planning programme is designed to prepare students with the skills to analyse the physical, social, cultural, economic, and ecological dimensions of urban settlements, comprehend their problems, and develop measures to address issues and emerging challenges in a planned manner. The two-year postgraduate programme aims to produce professional planners equipped to assist communities, organisations, and policymakers in addressing contemporary settlement challenges.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor's degree in Planning, Architecture, or Civil Engineering.

Master's Degree in Geography, Economics, Sociology, or equivalent.

— OR —

Other equivalent courses as prescribed/approved by ITPI, New Delhi. Sponsored/deputed candidates from Government/Semi-Government/Quasi-Government/College Departments with any of the above qualifications and a minimum of 2 years of working experience are also eligible.
